Can't open windows xp media center?
I have an dell xps with all the latest updates, I tried to open the media center on my system and I get this "Strong name validation failed for assembly the file may have been tampered with or it was partially signed but not fully signed with the correct private key" I last used it a month ago and it worked fine, when I downloaded sp3 it screwed up so i uninstalled sp3 and it still will not work. Please help, also i was thinking about just doing a clean install, but I'm concern it will erase my wireless router settings, and help would be nice.

If you have the original cds that came with the computer, you can probably perform a clean installation of windows, its straight forward and herez a tutorial:

but remeber to BACKUP your computers PERSONAL files onto an external device i.e. USB pen or a couple of CD/DVDs , once done u can put your files bk to the computer , you cant bk up Programmes so u may wanna find the cds that belong to them i.e. Microsoft Office or the broadband installation which you say may be a corncern
lastly, Many PC companies such as Dell, Gateway, and HP will include a "Driver Installation CD" with the computer. Simply insert the CD AFTER THE FORMATTING and follow the instructions, but if they dont exist the drivers are already installed
